Programs and Services

Let us create moments that enrich, comfort, and improve the well being of your loved one.

  • What makes Community Adult Day Center unique is our five thoughtfully designed themed spaces, each created to support different aspects of well-being, engagement, and joy.

Rather than spending the day in a single room, Members enjoy a variety of enriching environments tailored to their interests, abilities, and needs.

    • Bloom Room
Our Bloom Room is dedicated to therapeutic horticulture and nature-based experiences. Members nurture plants, create floral projects, and connect with the calming benefits of gardening, fostering purpose, creativity, and a sense of accomplishment.

    • Move & Groove Room
The Move & Groove Room is where movement comes to life. From chair yoga and Tai Chi to drumming, golf, chair hockey, and other adaptive activities, Members build strength, coordination, confidence, and fun through active participation.

    • Cozy Chair Room
The Cozy Chair Room is the heart of our Hygge-inspired philosophy. Here, Members begin and end their day enjoying conversation, meditation, quiet activities, a warm cup of tea, and meaningful connections with friends.

    • The Café
Our welcoming Café is more than a dining space - it is a place for community and fellowship. Members enjoy nutritious lunches and twice-daily snacks while sharing stories, laughter, and social interaction around the table.

    • Magic Forest Room
The Magic Forest Room combines nature and technology to inspire curiosity and engagement. Home to our Magic Table, hydroponic growing systems, and virtual reality  experiences, this innovative space offers interactive opportunities for cognitive stimulation, exploration, and  discovery.

    Attendance Options

  • We are proud to offer health monitoring and medication supervision by a Registered Nurse as part of our comprehensive support services. While we are not a medical model program, our social model of care is enhanced by the presence of an RN who helps monitor changes in health status, provides medication oversight, and serves as a valuable resource for Members, families, and healthcare providers.

This added layer of support helps promote safety, well-being, and peace of mind, allowing Members to fully engage in the meaningful social, recreational, and therapeutic experiences that are at the heart of our program.

    • Caring for a loved one can be deeply rewarding, but it can also be physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding.

    • Adult day centers provide valuable respite for family caregivers by offering a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where their loved one can spend the day participating in meaningful activities, building friendships, and receiving personalized care.

    • This gives caregivers time to work, attend appointments, run errands, rest, or simply recharge, knowing their loved one is being cared for with compassion and dignity. CADC can also provide connection to transportation providers.

    • By reducing caregiver stress and supporting overall family well-being, adult day centers help make it possible for older adults to remain living at home and connected to the people they love.

planting in the bloom room

The Bloom Room is a dedicated therapeutic horticulture space where Members participate in hands-on gardening and nature-inspired activities in a warm, welcoming environment. Seasonal planting projects, seed starting, herb gardening, and creative nature-based crafts provide opportunities for self-expression, reminiscence, and sensory stimulation. The Bloom Room encourages relaxation, creativity, and connection while bringing the beauty and calming influence of nature indoors.

The Bloom Room

Our hydroponic gardens allow Members to experience the wonder of growing plants year-round in a unique, soil-free environment. Watching seeds sprout and plants flourish indoors stimulates curiosity, learning, and cognitive engagement while providing opportunities to explore science, nutrition, and healthy living. The daily care of the gardens fosters responsibility, confidence, and a sense of pride as Members nurture living things from seed to harvest.

Hydroponic Gardens

Our outdoor raised gardens provide Members with an accessible and engaging way to experience the therapeutic benefits of gardening. Planting, watering, harvesting, and caring for flowers and vegetables encourages movement, strengthens fine and gross motor skills, and promotes a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Working together in the garden also creates opportunities for conversation, social connection, and meaningful engagement with nature.

Outdoor Raised Gardens

It has been well researched and documented that the use of plants and gardening can be used as a tool to improve our social, mental, and physical well-being. At CADC we use plants and gardening to:

  • Stimulate the cognitive function and enrich plasticity of the brain.

  • Encourage communication and camaraderie in a way only gardening and “digging in the dirt” can.

  • Connect with nature to reduce stress and provide a means for emotional expression.

  • View nature and use nature-based activities to create feeling of happiness and calm.

Wii-bowling

Wii Games

Wii games provide gentle exercise and friendly competition that can enhance balance, mobility, and teamwork, while VR experiences offer immersive opportunities for relaxation, memory engagement, travel exploration, and sensory stimulation.

Magic Table

The Magic Table uses light and motion to turn everyday movements into interactive “exergaming” that improves coordination, attention, and group participation.

The Magic Table

VR glasses

We use motion-based technology to create engaging, interactive experiences that promote physical activity, cognitive stimulation, and social connection.

Engage

Magic Table

Innovative tools such as the Lycent Magic Table, Wii gaming systems, and virtual reality (VR) glasses encourage participants to stay active while having fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Innovation

CADC has been gifted a Wii and Visual Reality (VR) glasses through a generous donation from Midwestern University and its Occupational Therapy students.

For the past three years, the students have been researching the positive effects of motion-based technology on people living with dementia.

Together, these technologies help foster independence, confidence, and overall well-being.
